While Singapore Airlines Limited has offerred its passengers Travel In A New Light, Qantas seems to have Travel..... in a different kind of light.

Update: Link to an article

Qantas executive general manager John Borghetti, who was in Hamburg with his A380 project team to inspect and approve the interior fitout, said the finished product exceeded expectations.

"And my expectations were pretty high," he said.

Oh Good Lord. The J seats look like army bunks. The Y seats are scary! Is this the best Marc Newson could come up with?

I am not sure how appealing this will be to the general public. If I had to decide on flying Singapore Airlines or Qantas based on these pictures I would select Singapore Airlines everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

First class looks good, nothing spectacular but good. Business class seats have a strange multi-cushion format, I don't know if that's really comfortable but it's just a matter of trying it out I guess. The Economy section however looks terrible. The dark green seats are everything but appealing! And bear in mind people are going to be sat there for a long time in some of the world's longest routes...

Horrible Y class seats, green is nice if used correctly but that shade is just nasty. The red isn't nice either, a more vivid red would suit those seats much better or why not stick to classy black/grey combination they currently have.

First looks nice but the colours let it down. Very bland.

At least they didn't use blue... The interior is distinctive and I think it will grow on people.

This doesn't look like a plane at all - when looking at cabin photos I usually get a "plane feeling" (is it just me?) but this photo is just empty and cold. It looks more like an auditorium or something - the self service center looks like a cheap dorm kitchen.

Not a huge fan of this one!

They had better make sure that there is a vomit bag at every seat.  vomit

Wow...Those green seats look horrible. Not the most flattering choice, but maybe with other added components it may look better.

Viewing all the pictures, I can say that I was expecting more from QF for their 380.

God those Y class seats are gross !! The only things that are nice are the Kangaroo logo at the top of the stairs and the Y class snack station. The Premium seats just dont look the part.

I thought I was looking at the waiting room in a hospital. Really, I cannot see this working at all, they are going to have to change it. Indescribably awful.

Are those plastic sheets on the cabin floor, or is that the finished product? Whatever it is covering the floor, I hope its temporary. In fact, I hope the whole thing is temporary. Shockingly awful.

That is one part of that is indeed temporary. They will be removed with the aircraft enters into service.

That Y seat colour is gruesome, is the designer colour blind?. The F & J seats look okay...nothing inspirational here whatsoever.

What on earth was Qantas thinking. I have to agree with the general feeling of other A.net members that Qantas has seriously screwed up with the A380 interiors.  Sad

Qantas executive general manager John Borghetti, who was in Hamburg with his A380 project team to inspect and approve the interior fitout, said the finished product exceeded expectations.

This man must seriously be smoking something strong to come to this conclusion.  Wow!
