Well, good news for BHX, as I suppose this is part of the expansion announced some time ago by BMIBaby.
I think this is also the result of their MME withdrawal.
Plus, they are adding some interesting destinations, let's hope they will work out fine.

Any ideas for a signature?

Anyone knows if there's any development expected at AMS?

Good news for Birmingham. Let's hope that Baby, that odd carrier, can profitably operate these - and all its other - routes. I am doubtful.

To what extent does the various London airports compete with Birmingham?

What will its new frequencies to Scotland be? Any likelihood of an Inverness flight? That would fit nicely as a once-daily afternoon flight.

Would be good to get an extra EMA-AMS flight at the weekends to make two, daytrips on a Saturday or Sunday are impossible from EMA at the moment.

Can't see it happening though, it's been like that for two years now and hasn't happened yet.

There will be more new routes announced by the end of the year once it has been announced which base will get the final new aircraft.

Surely you meant to say "There'll be further expansion announced from MAN at the end of the year"???

Don't really understand why I'm disappointed with this news, because I should have seen it coming from an airline thats majorly un-dedicated to it's CWL base!

Can someone also explain how CWL-BFS going from 2xMon-Fri, 1xSat&Sun, to 2xMon-Fri, 1xSat&Sun, is classed as an expansion???

Good news for BHX though - as said, interesting destinations from bmibaby! Hope it works out for them up there even though I'm extremely sour towards them at the moment!

MAN is not in the running for the new aircraft, it is either going to be CWL or EMA. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you though!

Finally - WW is learning that its important to focus on key cities... With BA leaving Brum, now is WW's chance to really focus on Brum, and becoming the major carrier there.

Its their last chance - if this fails, WW fails.

At first I thought the same thing as bmiexpat, but it does make sense. The only airport in their portfolio that has the opportunity to be a huge base for them, which hasn't got that much direct competition, but does have a lot of potential, is actually Birmingham!

If BHX fails for WW, they haven't got a large focus base, they also haven't got much chance of building one up at another airport, the next best thing they have to BHX with chances of them being the people's first choice carrier, is CWL, which, even I can admit, hasn't got the potential to be a huge low-cost hub!

WW really do have to make this work! and ya know what... as much as I dislike them, I think they'll pull it off  Smile
