Rumor has it (e.g. PlaneBusiness.com) that Bethune is being forced out of CO by David Bonderman, the investor whose share NW now owns.

Is this true?

If Bonderman no longer owns the shares, how can he do anything? Also, why would he want to such a thing anyway? .. What would he gain by removing half the team that made him so much $$$ ?

It's no secret that Bethune and Bonderman are not the best of friends, but Gordon and Greg Brennaman just signed new 4 or 5 year contracts with CO, so I don't think he's going anywhere. Sure, contracts can be bought out, but I think this is just a bunch of fluff. CO employees absolutely love Gordon, and he and Brennaman have played a huge part in turning the airline around. You can't always believe all of the garbage you hear on the internet. Bonderman has no control over whether Gordon stays or goes right now, and NW's voting control isn't due to go into effect for another couple of years. Next topic?

Indeed, Boinderman's firm AirPartners sold its CO equity interest to NW. Bonderman still owns a piece of AWA.

Although if Bethune does leave I'd love to see him turn TW around just as he did CO.

Does Continental still have a stake in AWA?
