Quoting Richardw (Reply 1): is there much competition on FRA-VLC?
According to Amadeus, there's no flight from FRA to VLC.
I like VLC: it's small, cosy, functional, and has good places to view.

Quoting Richardw (Reply 3): What are those IB A320s? (6nr?) doing on the otherside of the runway at VLC I wonder.
I remember there being several IB A300s in storage when I visited two years' ago.
When FR's HHN-VLC service begins, the Irish airline will operate 7 routes to/from VLC, namely to/from DUB, STN, CRL, HHN, BGY, PSA and CIA.
I so can't wait for its BVA base to (finally) open.

Quoting BY738 (Reply 6): FR making use of the spare capacity after dumping other routes from PIK

The only route axed has been Lubeck hasn't it? Replaced by Wroclaw. Posts on the Taxiway Alpha forums say the two new routes will be launched due to reduced frequencies on other routes
I take it FR are reducing frequencies on Hahn routes too. Which ones are these

So? That’s just a part of evolving: cutting the waste, concentrating on developing a stronger portfolio, a stronger brand, acquiring more market share, hopefully – and most importantly – earning more profit. Do you think they should concentrate on their weak routes or routes which aren’t performing sufficiently well? There is only so much you can do, and if a route isn’t profitable and can’t be made profitable, then it should cease. Likewise, if there is a surplus of supply on a route and that isn’t profitable and unlikely to change through effort, then it must be sorted. And I don’t, unlike a lot of A.netters, think that needs to be publicised – unless for its own gain. However, it does raise questions about its pre-route research, but hey: not everything will always work because nothing's perfect.
