So this means that the S2 DEL-LHR flight will come to an end.
What will be 9Ws International WB fleet utilisation now,
1 343 daily day time BOM-LHR flight
1 343 4x weekly DEL-LHR day time flight
1 332 3x weekly DEL-LHR day time flight
1 343 daily night time BOM-LHR flight
1 763 daily day time DEL-ATQ-LHR flight
I have also heard that they will re route/position the 332 on a BOM-DEL route and atleast 2x frequencies p/week on the BOM-SIN route for crew training, can anyone confirm this news.

MEL
MEL,
I am just guessing you may be able to answer this question. The S2 767 was an ex-UA, ex-Malaysian 767-300ER with the UA (Intl. 4-class layout). Now 9W is starting a 3-class (Premiere, Y+ & Y) service using the same a/c, can mx at 9W in BOM change the a/c layout on their own or does the a/c have to make a trip out of the country to get that done. I heard Kingfisher is getting the J class installed in Europe somewhere.

Quoting Vivekman2006 (Reply 10): I think the inter-metro routes in India (BOM-DEL, DEL-CCU, BOM-BLR, DEL-BLR, DEL-MAA) deserve A332s due to the high volume of traffic
Quite possible Indian carriers will begin to this once they get their hands on enough wide-bodies. None of the new carriers had WBs till very recently. Comparitively smaller distance mean some WBs may be used on these routes between turn-arounds in international flights.

Quoting Vivekman2006 (Reply 10): A332 on BOM-DEL route? This would be the first time a modern widebody would be used on a domestic route, wouldn't it? The demand exists for sure!
Just positioning flights mate not a regular schedule service and its not the first time this happens
AI uses 772 between BOM-DEL [modern WB]
9W also did it with the 343 [modern WB]
Aren't AI's most if not all such flights just a segment of BOM-DEL-XXX or vice-versa flights?

I think he means in terms of regularly scheduled WB flights to cater to the volumes.

Has the new terminal at ATQ opened ? Last time I flew into ATQ in November 2004, the arrival and customs hall were about the size of a two car garage.
Very cramped, very dirty and very depressing. I'm assuming the new terminal must have opened by now. Does anyone know and are any pics available.

Yeah it has been opened since last fall. It is very modern on the inside, punjabi inspired architecture on the outside. The airport is still pretty small, only being able to handle 600-700 passengers at once. There is already talk of expanding it since traffic is growing at ATQ.
I know its very hard to get slots at LHR, but the timings of ATQ-LHR and vice versa should've been made to work with connections onwards to JFK,ORD, SFO, LAX etc... Thats where 9W could've gotten alot more traffic. Here I am in ORD, and there still isnt a viable way for me to get to ATQ even with 9W, AI, and SQ services!

Actually 6x week. IMO 9W will need to rotate this route at least few times a month with the 332 or the 343 as this 763ER is almost 15 years old and dispatching it 6x week regularly on ATQ LHR may be fairly challenging.

With these flights 9W's three 343's, one 332 and one (ex-S2) 763 are accounted for, while still allowing three days when a single 343 may be free and another four days when the 332 may be free and may be used for rotation and mx.
I guess this allows for brand new routes when the two additional ILFC leased 332's arrive in the next 4-5 months, any updates on which routes two additional 332's may be used on? Was there a rumor that these next two 332's may be painted in the Transjet livery and open the BOM-BRU-JFK route.
S2 already has all clearances to land in the US, right? So will US Dept of Homeland Security see this as a backdoor entry of 9W which still does not have all clearances?
