In addition to the existing Montreal route, Russian Transaero will start once weekly flights from Moscow's Domodedovo to Toronto Pearson on June 21 this year.

Schedule is as folows:

Dep DME Wed 21:30
Arr YYZ 23:45

Dep YYZ Thu 15:30
Arr DME Fri 08:35

Not quite sure about the aircraft type , but I think a 747 would be too big for the Canadian route, I bet it will be a 767.

It's great to see Transaero inaugurating so many long distance destinations this year and would be great to see another Russian carrier in YYZ.

Is it possible for Transaero to restart service to the US, like JFK or IAD on the east coast and LAX, SFO or SEA on the west coast?

Never heard of the airline.

Neat that it will have service to YYZ. However, it's main competition will be the already well-established Aeroflot (btw, they send a 763 down).

Cheers,

Transaero is one of the largest carriers in Russian operating an all Boeing fleet :737, 767, 747. They started off as a charter , but today they have quite a bit of scheduled destinations including many in the Far East such as BKK, KUL, SIN. For more info go to www.transaero.ru

As for US I am not sure, they used to operate to LAX in the past with a DC10.

According to YYZNews.com, Transaero will operate a Boeing 767-200 into YYZ although I would go crazy if I saw the 747-200 pax in YYZ again, God I miss that bird!
