I just found this quite interesting, I was just browsing through RAM's website and looking at their summer schedule, I noticed that they are going to serve YUL 10 times weekly and JFK 9 Times:

For JFK:

Royal Air Maroc
AT 200 Mohamed V (CMN), Casablanca, Morocco 11:30 AM
John F Kennedy Int'l (JFK), New York, New York, USA
Terminal 1 3:40 PM
Non-stop
763 8:10 Daily

Royal Air Maroc
AT 202 Mohamed V (CMN), Casablanca, Morocco 2:50 PM
John F Kennedy Int'l (JFK), New York, New York, USA
Terminal 1 7:00 PM
Non-stop
763 8:10 Tuesday
Thursday

For YUL:
Royal Air Maroc
AT 208 Mohamed V (CMN), Casablanca, Morocco 11:30 AM
Trudeau (YUL), Montreal, Quebec, Canada 3:05 PM
Non-stop
763 7:35 Wednesday
Friday
Saturday

Royal Air Maroc
AT 206 Mohamed V (CMN), Casablanca, Morocco 2:45 PM
Trudeau (YUL), Montreal, Quebec, Canada 6:20 PM
Non-stop
763 7:35 Daily

Anyone has more infos about these increases in frequencies, and also about their plans to start flights to ATL?

I'm not quite sure how they would accomplish such a schedule as they only have 2 B767-300s.

Im not an aviation expert, so Im not sure on how many Aircrafts they would need to accomplish such a schedule. Anyone knows ?

RAM is considering flying into ATL? No way, really?

According to RAM's CEO, Yes they are. although there is no clear plan on when/how to plan on starting that service (ATL is Delta's main HUB, which is RAM's main code-share partner for North America)

3 aircraft. One each for the daily to JFK and YUL, and another one for the combined twice weekly to JFK/YUL.

Great for RAM! They certain seem to be trying to be progressive and are helping Morocco establish a positive name particularly in tourism.

As a side note, somewhat sad, but RAM nearly began Los Angeles services in 2002. During the summer of 2001 the then Moroccan National Tourism Office in LA felt there was enough particularly high end traffic that would warrant direct services. A RAM delegation had visited LA to begin establising the required operating permits. The twice weekly flight was to have operated with the then newly arrived 767s.
Offcourse we all know the tragic events shortly afterwards lead to all plans being cancelled for the following summer.

I missed the old days when RAM had 744 to JFK and YUL (my fav 744 livery), but the current dedicated nonstops for both cities seem more efficient. IMO, there's a market or RAM to link North America with not only Morocco, but also North Africa and West Africa, one major advantage for RAM, unlike European airlines going to LOS having staff layover/catering issues (due to longer flights), RAM can go to those cities, turnaround, and return without those concerns.

I'm surprised that none of the North African airlines have tapped into this market, perhaps Libya will do it with sactions mostly lifted.

The RAM 763's are not such a rare sight in ATL now as DL does the checks for them. They ferry empty from JFK but usually they pull into one of the gates at terminal E before going to the hanger. The planes usually come in back to back. As one is completed the other shows up shortly after and after a while they return again after so many hours.

These are fantastic news. I am wondering though has Air Canada ever considered flying to Casablanca? Or did it ever operate the route to Casablanca from either Montreal or Toronto!?

Flights 206 and 208 depart YUL at the very same time. That is weird, isn't it?
There will be days (Wed, Fri, Sat) when two AT a/c will be ready to take off with the same schedule. Any reason for that?
