In this forum there has been a lot of negative comments about UK charter airlines (including from myself ). One of the major complaints is the seat pitch and how the service has deteriorated over the last few years and airlines charging for services that were once included in the price.
Do charter airlines in Germany, France and other European countries offer 28 inch seat pitch or do they offer leg room comparable with scheduled carriers. Also what is the service like on these charter airlines and do you have to pay for services that were once included in the price.

By and large the standards of service on other European IT charter carriers is far superior to the British charter airlines, certainly now the British airlines have constantly cut back the on board service.
German and Italian charter airlines still offer free hot meals on charter services and often their aircraft arent as highly configured as ours. Most 767 European charter airlines operate in a 2-3-2 config, yet our Excel and Thomson squeeze 2-4-2 into their 767s.
Its the same story with the 330. 8 abreast in German and Italian charter airlines but 9 abreast in UK charter airlines 330s.
Also while Tui charges its British charter passengers for on-board meals, it still provides complimentary meals for Tui German passengers!

And if you go to the Mediterranean and other hot tourist spots like the Canary Islands, you will find that the German package tourists have booked the best hotels and/or the best rooms available. Why? Because they are generally willing to pay more than the British package tourists.

My parents have flown a lot with some of the Spanish charter airlines operating to and from the UK both past and present, and they have said each time that the service is rubbish compared to UK carriers and the crews tend to treat the pax with contempt and look and speak to the British people like dirt.
One one flight, the galley carts were all full of food, but the crew did not come round and do a meal service even though some people (my parents included) had paid to have a meal, and when people enquired about it, the crew just did that usual spanish thing of pretending they didn't understand then walking off.
