I´ve seen two DC-10s in basic Airtours/MyTravel colours remotely parked at Johannesburg 10 days ago. What will happen to them? I assume they are too old for F-conversion.

They were moved there from Kemble about 2 weeks ago. They are owned by Global Aviation and will be used on Hadj flights before being placed on the leasing and charter market. The first of the three aircraft, 3D-MRR now carries Oriental Airways titles.
Hope this helps.

Obviously a Virgin Atlantic fan!!!

Thanks a lot. I was wondering if they would be cut up as they are parked near other aircraft in derelict condition.

There also seem to be 2x ex UA 747-200's parked at SAA maintenance in JNB. Does anybody know who the owners are?

There are now 3 DC-10s there, I'm sure I only saw 2 a couple of weeks ago but there were definitely 3 when I took off for BFN on Monday.

Hi,

The DC-10 carrying the 'Oriental Airways' titles was used in a UK TV Drama and was a fictional airline. Hope this helps!  Big thumbs up
