Hi all.
Just wondering what you think are the best and worst airline websites around?
Personally, I really like the DL site. It's simple and looks good. Least favourite is the Continental one. It isn't Firefox friendly, keeps forgetting my settings every time I move onto another page and also just seems a bit dated.

BA has a great site.
AA's isn't the most pleasant to the eyes, but it's functional.
UA's is easy on the eyes, and works great when it doesn't crash.
US has by far the worst website of the major US carriers, though it is scheduled to be upgraded in the near future. IIRC, the demo of their new site looks wonderful.
Next flights: MCO-IAD-SYR-ORD-MCO on UA/UAX, Thanksgiving week

Haha, that's funny. I love CO's website, and detest Delta's. Go figure!
My biggest complaint with Delta is that no one there seems intelligent enough to add ONE SIMPLE BOX to let me put in a SKYTEAM FF number in a reservation. All of the OTHER Skyteam members will let me put in an FF number (for example, I can put in my Delta number at Northwest or Alitalia) but I cannot put ANY other program number in on Delta's website. Which means that when I fly Delta, I have to go ahead and wait on the phone for thirty minutes to talk to someone in India that cannot understand that my frequent flyer number is, in fact, a Continental OnePass number.
See my gripe?
I like CO's website because it is Safari friendly, and also Opera friendly. I didn't know that it gave Firefox trouble. But the website is clean, familiar, and gets out of my way when I want to do advanced/crazy bookings.
Further, Delta's website seems to prefer that I fly other carriers. Want to book a ticket on Delta from Anchorage to Dallas? All it brings up is Alaska Airlines flights.
Odd- you'd think Delta would prefer to drum up business for THEMSELVES, rather than a direct competitor... but what do I know, my degree is in Aeronautical engineering, not marketing.

Does that happen when you press enter on your keyboard? I've noticed that you have to manually click "enter" with your mouse.

It's sometimes humorous to visit sites with English translations... This isn't a swipe at Transaero, but after they announced services to SYD I checked their site and had a chuckle at the English wording.
For example (this is all verbatim from their site):
"Acceleration factor may lead to your feeling dizzy, bloated, or having nausea. Before the flight do not eat yourself full, refrain from food generating gases (peas, cabbage, and rye bread)."
and
"Transaero believes that security cannot be compromised and engages in extensive checks of the aircraft until it is convinced that the aircraft is in full order. Transaero guarantees proper functioning of the aircraft."

I had this issue, too, so I emailed them to have them add my WorldPerks number to the reservation. They did, and when they wrote back, they told me that when you check in online, it gives you the option to add the partner's FF number then. So you don't have to call them every time.

Absolutely. It is the same if i book through SAS's Norwegian site. They seems to assume that Norwegians don't have the sense to join other carriers FF program

I was going to do a post on here about "Airlines' Website Eccentricities", but no need - this will do just fine!
Frontier's website has a couple of very odd features - first, it is the only airline website I have ever been to that does NOT recognize the three digit codes! In shopping for flights, type in SAN, and it gives you first "Cabo San Lucas", then "San Antonio", and then "San Diego". Everyone else, SAN = San Diego, first choice.
Second, when you get to the confirmation of your chosen flights, it's a "page within a page" concept...except that the scroll bar on the inner page covers the information on the far right of the inner page - and you can't scroll over to the right - so you can't really confirm all the details. Not earth-shatteringly important, but I can't figure out why no one there has seen it.
Third, when a person tries to type in their home address, it doesn't allow "Non-Roman Characters". Okay, so those of us that live in places that require a # sign have to type in "Unit" or something else. Again, not really a problem, but really an oddity!!
On my work computer, the USAirways website will not work with Internet Explorer, but it will open with Mozilla Firefox. It is only on that computer that there is any problem, and that is the only website that causes a crash. The tech guys have no idea why. Kudos, however, to HP/US for being the first with that "Flexible Schedule" planner that everyone is copying now!!
The websites for Delta, United, Continental, and American work very nicely - especially for us a.netters who like to see up front what type of plane is being offered!! I believe Northwest has changed their style, but for a while, you couldn't see what kind of plane you would be flying. I know you can now in many cases - I think it's only if you choose "select by price" that it doesn't show you until later.

I know! Crazy isn't it!
I wasn't able to use my WorldPerks account and it automaticcaly signed me up for SkyMiles! If I put my WorldPerks number, I could have had a free ticket!
So now, I have 22.5k miles on NWA and 2.5k miles on Delta that I will never use

I am a fan of DL and fly at least 12 international flights on them or a SkyTeam member every year. I too think they have a wonderful easy to use website, however, I have ONE BIG ISSUE with the website. The website will not allow me to book an international flight if the flight originates outside the US. For example, last year I made 4 DXB-ATL-DXB flights and for each one I had to do over the phone or book thru a travel agent in Doha. Now this year I am living in Viet Nam and will fly HAN-ATL-HAN at least 6 times. I can't book these on line and am having to use a travel agent in Hanoi. Why don't they fix their website so a person can book regardless of where the flight originates?????
