I'll likely be going to BKK in August.
My choices are Eva Air, Koreal Airlines, or China Airlines, as I'm on somewhat of a budget. The
Thai nonstop to BKK is a little out of my price range. So out of those three, which one is the best?
Eva would be LAX-TPA-BKK
Korean would be ATL-ICN-BKK
China would be LAX-TPE-BKK

Could you not perhaps fly from Vancouver to HKG with Oasis, and then onto BKK by one of the Asian LCC's? I imagine they will be christening the route with some pretty tempting offers.
Otherwise I'd personally book according to price and the number of miles I may receive - which FF Program are you best affiliated to?

Could do that. From HKG, what about: HKG-SIN (Jet*Asia, perhaps USD$80 incl. tax); SIN-CGK (Valuair); CGK-KUL (Air Asia); and then KUL-BKK (Air Asia)? If you're lucky, you could probably get all that - including everything - for less than USD$150-200.

If I was to choose one of the three I would go for BR because their schedules provide a bit of flexibility of choice, but make sure you get a schedule with a B77W for your crossing across the Pacific, they have a very good AVOD system onboard. A flight with one of their 747-400s will require you will need to bring a few books with you.
The Korean Air flight times aren't the best in the world, arriving into BKK just before midnight, something which I would never be prepared to do if I was going to a foreign country for the first time.
The EVA recommendation comes from a family Friend, who is Taiwanese, she always tries to go on BR ahead of CI when travelling between TPE and LHR and she loves their new B77Ws.
I couldn't personally give you an opinion on any of those airlines, but I have travelled on companies like CX & SQ, so I wonder if any other airlines are in your price range?
As a side question that is slightly off the topic, what are your dates of travel?
