Hello. I am looking to boost up my Computer's performance. I use it mainly for Fs9 and right now I am only getting 6-10 frame rates and I am unable to even fly into detailed airports (World Airports 2's EDDF hits me hard and it drops to around 2-3 framerates). For Christmas I want to ask Santa for a few items (in terms of memory/grahpic card(s)) to get the most out of FS performance wise. Here are my current specs...any suggestions?
Thanks
Andre

What video card do you have? Can your motherboard support a processor upgrade? In order, and this is my own opinion, I would do video card, ram and then processor

Quoting Csturdiv (Reply 1): Can your motherboard support a processor upgrade?
There is nowhere to go. I assume that he has a Socket A motherboard, so Athlon XP 3200 would be the maximum. Since ha's got an Athlon XP 3000+, there is no point to do it. Upgrade to a newer CPU would require a new MB too. That limits the chances of upgrading the video too - selection of new GPU's with AGP interface is limited.

Just got one of the last HIS IceQ3 RadeonHD3850's available throughout Germany. Most powerful GPU for AGP to date and I guess there will be none beating its specifications and abilities in the future.
HIS IceQ3 RadeonHD3850

Core Clock: 720MHz MHz
Memory Clock: 1820MHz MHz
320 Stream Processing Units

DirectX® 10.1 / Shader Model 4.1 support

Hey KLM672,
If you want to run Flight Simulator 9 or X then that PCs specs are pretty good (for the price!!) HOWEVER, if there is another version but comes with Vista 32-bit then get that one. Sadly many add-ons and (even FS) may not work with a 64-bit operating system. Everything else about that pack looks great... just find a 32-bit one instead
Funnily enough, I've recently ordered a PC with similar specs to the link you posted, but mine's 32-bit hehe

You don't mention what graphics card you have.
World Airports 2 is a pile of pooh, get rid of it, it's a complete frame wrecker. There are better freeware airports out there. By the way, are you buying anew PC or an XBox? The reason I ask is because I've just answered another of your queries where you say, should I get an XBox instead. Well, my answer to that is no, get yourself a PS3, it's fantastic!
